- I made a second flute in the key of G, this one out of 1/2" PVC. It's much easier to play and more in tune because I used a cork in place of a PVC end cap. The cork can be moved to tune it over all and especially between octaves, which can be a problem with flutes that are not tapered. I've seen a fix for this on another site that uses a wedge that fits in the windway. I have a few ideas on how to replicate the wedge but I haven't had time to experiment with them. This flute is much better ... less
